Biana Goldenberg

Violin, Viola, Cello and Piano Teacher

Continuing her family tree of 4 generations of string players, Biana’s life was filled with music from young age.

Her education began in the stringent and demanding Soviet Union where she studied in the special music school for gifted children; it was the only one of its kind in her state. From then on she continued her studies of performing arts for further 5 years in the University for the Performing Arts under the guidance of the infamous Prof. Alexander Kaushanski, the student of the renowned violinist David Oistrakh. She completed her education with honours.

Her talent and abilities did not go unnoticed. She commenced her performance career in the country renowned for its musical abilities working with The State Opera and Ballet Theatre alongside teaching children of all age groups in the demanding education system of Russia. She continued her career as an educator in some of Melbourne’s most demanding schools and high schools such as Bialik College as well as at a TAFE level in her role at Box Hill TAFE.

Her genres were not only limited to classical music as she enjoyed teaching and performing in different genres. She participated in international Jazz festivals, klezmer, operettas (working with the best Hungarian troupes), opera and theatre. Her overseas appearances and tours included travels to some of the most prestigious European theatres in Germany, France, Romania, Spain and Hungary. In Australia, she toured with Maestro Andrea Bocelli on his tour with Delta Goodrem. She also played the Opera in the Market and Opera in the Alps, the Aria award ceremony and guest performances with Melbourne and City Opera, The Melbourne Musicians and Australia Philharmonic Orchestra.

We are very fortunate that Biana is bringing and sharing this experience with our Whitehorse Music community.  Able to teach all age groups, tailoring her teaching to their individual style and passion as well as ensuring they meet their own goals, she is a great asset. Whether your goal is performing along the best, the AMEB/ARSM/Trinity exams, preparation for a scholarship or simply for enjoyment having your child play a father’s day song, Biana has the experience, teaching style and the knowledge to help you or your child.
