Howard Murray
Performer & TeacherHoward Murray began
playing the violin at the age of 10 and continues a steady career in
teaching and performing music from all different styles including
classical, jazz and modern music going as far as improvising in his own
unique style and also composition. Howards experience in performance
caters and covers for vast audiences of all people and he has played in
quartets, duets, orchestras and bands that play at many venues
including university halls, weddings, private functions, international
conservatoriums (including Australia) and even busking on the street.
Howard takes the view that music is for everyone and is a performance
that should not be hidden away from the general public only for an
elitist group of people to listen to. He endeavours to search for
unusual sounds from all around the world and has travelled extensively
to find these unusual and peculiar traits that the sounds of music have
to offer. Having studied under numerous teachers from different styles
he has managed to create a hybrid teaching style that allows
flexibility for the students that he trains and teaches. Because music
is for anyone to enjoy, Howard’s students range from very
young to very old and because Australia is an ageing population Howard
believes that music is a fantastic way for the elderly to remain active
and mentally stimulated and music is also a great way to discipline and
train the minds of the younger generations.
Currently Howard teaches on Mondays and Wednesdays.
